Jeff is a Leither, born and bred. Through his meticulous research he is sure that he is the one to tell The Story of Leith. But the appearance of the Janitors and the mysterious Manuscript forces Jeff to go on a unique journey and question what a story is and who gets to tell it.

Conceived by acclaimed artist and filmmaker Steve McQueen, Resistance explores how acts of resistance have shaped life in the UK, and the powerful role of photography in documenting and driving change.

Melvyn’s eponymous protagonist is a flawed individual and mediocre politician, and they are freshly dead. Over the course of the dramatic work, Melvyn navigates the afterlife and comes to terms with his new reality. The project takes some inspiration from Dante’s ‘The Divine Comedy’ and follows a similar arc.
