Dublin has a long and legendary tradition of writers, and since Conor J. O’Brien adopted the name Villagers, the singer-songwriter-instrumentalist-dramatist has joined the club with a rich, deep and diverse body of work.
Hollie McNish
is a Ted Hughes Award winning poet, a twice Sunday Times Bestselling author, and the first poet to record a poetry album in London’s Abbey Road Studios.
Sadaf Zahedi
Sadaf was born in Kabul, Afghanistan, came to Germany at the age of three as a child refugee of war, and grew up in Bremen. Sadaf writes autobiographical stories and texts to raise a loud voice against the silent violence against girls and women.
Michael Pedersen:
is the Writer in Residence at Edinburgh University and the current Edinburgh Makar (Poet Laureate). His prose debut, Boy Friends was a Sunday Times Critics Choice and shortlisted for Best Non-Fiction at Scotland's National Book Awards.

Kairogen
Kairogen is a DJ and producer from Glasgow, who has played some of the UK’s biggest clubs and festivals, including a residency with Slam’s Return To Mono at Sub Club.
The name Kairogen stems from the combination of two words: ‘Kairos,’ the Greek meaning for ‘the right moment’ and ‘gen,’ meaning to generate or create.
From soundtracking her art school installations and paintings, to nights working the Sub Club, rarely was an artist better named.

K.Moods by Kathleen Moodie offers an explosion of colour with her boldly designed knitted clothing and accessories.
Mairi Brown draws inspiration from the natural world, incorporating animal and botanical imagery into her free machine-embroidered designs.
Working from an old lemonade factory in Edinburgh, Fiona McIntosh channels her passion for mid-century design into her hand-dyed and hand-screen-printed fabrics that blend the past with contemporary style.
James Donald, who goes under the label of PickOne, is a hand weaver whose work is heavily influenced by traditional Japanese textile techniques, including boro boro and sashiko stitching, adding a touch of artistry to both personal and home environments.
Together, these designers represent the cutting edge of sustainable and innovative textile design, offering a diverse range of products that are both beautiful and environmentally conscious.

Andrew Ostler - The Blind Sublime - Live Performance and Album Launch
Umbrella Vinyl is thrilled to announce a live in-store performance by Andrew Ostler, showcasing his new album, "The Blind Sublime".
His fifth album for the Expert Sleepers label continues the trajectory away from a sound largely based on synthesizers towards orchestral textures and heavily processed saxophone. Building on the string arrangements and sax drone from earlier records, The Blind Sublime adds a full choir, taking the music to another level of spiritual intensity.
"The Blind Sublime" is released on heavyweight blue vinyl and pressed at East Lothian's Seabass Vinyl. It will be available for purchase on the night along with other Expert Sleepers releases.

BOGOTÁ STORY focuses on a young mother in a violent background forced to choose between her family and her dreams.
DESASIR sees a woman flee through a dark corridor on her path to freedom. Its co-director Daissy Pérez Ospina will also be in attendance.
JUNIOR TU PAPÁ melds together phone calls, fútbol heroes, and Colombian history in this rumination on family ties, cultural memory, and diasporic connection.
ENTRE TÚ Y MILAGROS focuses on a teenage girl's first encounter with death and her relationship with her mother.
LA TRAMPA tells the story of an old fish trap built by grandfather Noé.
This screening will also be accompanied by delicious food from Colombian family business SABOR AL TOQUE.

The Icicle Works
The Icicle Works formed in Liverpool in 1981. Ian McNabb (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Chris Layhe (bass, vocals, keyboards, percussion) and Chris Sharrock (drums) had all been playing music since their early teens, but this was their first attempt at inhabiting a band that existed solely on its own material. The name came from a short science fiction story by Frederik Pohl called 'The Day the Icicle Works Closed.'
McNabb began a successful solo career in 1991 and has released over twenty solo albums. In 2023, McNabb and Layhe decided to reunite for a series of acoustic performances.

Blaise Siwula
I’m a freeform free jazz free music improvising saxophonist/clarinetist/pianist/percussionist originally from Detroit (1950) then San Francisco (70’s) and NYC from 1989 until now and a semi resident of Merida Mexico (presently). My focus has always been on creativity and celebrating life in adventures with musicians. I have releases over the past 35 years, and spent an enjoyable 18 years curating the C.O.M.A. improvising music series at ABC No-Rio in NYC from 1998 to 2016.
Leigh Chorlton. Drummer for The Shell and member of Peter Russel's emsemble 'Ubu warp cheer'. Toured UK with Raiments. Regular attendee of giodynamics Glasgow And occasional participator in Tony Bevan's Saturday afternoon improv jam 'Help me! I'm melting'. Runs Whitespace Gallery in Edinburgh.
Jer Reid is a musician, sound engineer and dramaturge based in Glasgow. He has and does play in bands and improvising ensembles. He organises gigs and tours, and runs Gruff Wit Records. In 2010, with Solène Weinachter, he founded the music/dance group Collective Endeavours. His dramaturgy work has included working with dancer Rosalind Masson and visual artist and writer Corin Sworn. With Una MacGlone, he made the music for Cloudberry MacLean’s film, Low Rent. In 2023 he released his first book, Days and Diary Entries.
Emer Tumilty
Emer performs on occasion with saxophonist Tony Bevan at “Help Me, I’m Melting”, and collaborates with an eclectic range of improvisers and experimental players across Scotland.
Angela Horn used to play sax with Archbishop Kebab and Brittlehip and now plays with GIOdynamics.
Caroline Hussey co-founded and co-ran Soup, Zuppa - a monthly open, inclusive improvisation session in Glasgow. She trained as a music therapist, and is working with Sonic Bothy open sessions to offer accessible music making.
Graeme Wilson is an Edinburgh-based improviser. Recent work includes duo release Shoes for Losers with bassist Andy Champion. The FMR release of his work with sculptor Cath Keay for GIO, A Bit in the Air, was nominated for Scottish Jazz Album of the Year in 2018.
